I mentioned starting a College Football News weblog back in April (here and here) and after getting in touch with a few folks to help post news, Fanblogs.com is up and running. Kevin has done a ton of work with the general setup and such (which has been good, considering it’s finals week here for me) and we’re up and running.
Our first post went up on May 4 and we’ve had more than a dozen posts since then ranging from the Price Scandal to TCU’s media guide to Oregon’s new Uniforms. It’s slow at the moment, but there have been several conference previews posted and as the season approaches things will pick up.
Bookmark it, and check back often. We’ve been doing a pretty good job of scouring news sources, so you’ll definitely get better depth of coverage from the entire field of 117 than if you just check ESPN.com.
If you want to help write for a conference, let me know.

um, hello. I already said I\’d write excessive amounts about how great Michigan is. Go Blue!
We\’ve already got too much about how great michigan is. That is, none.
I know Pete, I am not on there to talk about how great Cal. State Long Beach… oh wait, we don\’t have a football team. But hey we sure do kick ass in Women\’s Volleyball…umm yeah!
Why are you discriminating against Michigan? You better watch out or I\’ll team up with Amy and release UnofficialFanBlogsAndGoBlue.com.
Well, if you do that make sure you don\’t use an entry level programming language like PHP and make sure you observe accepted web standards!
By \”accepted web standards\” I can only assume you mean that we should just have one page full of links with no particularly useful structure. And many of those links will be broken - obviously.
And don\’t forget the god-awfully tacky graphics and animated gifs. I especially recommend lights that look like emergency vehicle lights. If you can manage it, a background sound of a siren would be suggested as well.
