After extensive conversations with Stef and Morgan, gentle nudging by Sarah and Amy, and insight from several others I’ve decided that I do have a bit of fight left in me, and that this isn’t a dead issue yet.
So where do you go when the board won’t follow it’s own rules, refuses to act with any sense of conscience, and is basically tossing its power around to help its own flawed politics? Well, there’s really only one place left to go: the Kiwanis International Board. If they can’t do anything, there’s nothing that can be done. If they don’t, nobody can.
I’m going to wait to receive Rupert’s response to my request of several days ago for details of how I’ve not complied with their ridiculous requests before taking any kind of action, however I’ve also reached the point where I’m fully willing to admit that I can no longer fight this battle alone — this is where you come in. I’ve decided that one of the biggest things that’s been misrepresented is the level of support that Manny, Amy, and I had from members and leaders of this organization — which is to say that we had a great deal. There are two things that you can do right now to help.
1. If you have pull with any Kiwanians involved in the district or international political scene, try to get them to take up the cause. If they need any resources, please don’t hesitate to contact me — I’ll give them whatever info they want.
2. I’ve created an online petition. I’m not asking you to support UCKI or say that it was right or good, all I’m asking is that you support the concept that a) the board should operate within it’s policy code b) It has failed to do so and that c) The board’s actions have been unreasonably harsh.
So please take a moment sign the petition and pass it along to other Kiwanis Family Members (especially CKI members and alumni) that you know. (Reflectors, etc…) If you have questions I’ll take them via email or comments on this post.

Thanks again for your support.

My random quote was:
\”Nothing matters more than beating that cow college on the other side of the state.\”
~Bear Bryant
Things like that are what balance out the things people hate about the Bear

Wait… who dislikes something about The Bear? You know that\’s a crime in Alabama, right?

I read somewhere that the definition of an atheist in the state of Alabama is someone who does not believe in Bear Bryant. In fact, since I can\’t think of where I read that, I might just take credit for it…Also, Pete did you see the picture of Bear in the foyer of the Blount dorm last year? Someone had xeroxed a picture of him and written under it, \”This is what the face of God must look like.\” Beautiful. In fact, since I don\’t know who did that, I might just start taking credit for it too…
