Well folks, college football is right around the corner, and that means (of course) that a lot of crazy people are going to start getting drunk and screaming at old men in ugly black and white uniforms EVERY WEEK.

I’m really looking forward to it. I tend to keep my eye on ESPN.com pretty well during the season, getting all the dirt on the players, coaches, and conferences. I’ve always thought, though, that ESPN should have a lot more info. After all, I hear tons and tons about the SEC from local news media but not nearly enough about all of the other conferences.

Well, I felt much the same way about the war at the beginning… just not getting enough information… but then came The Command Post a collective warblog with almost 100 posters. The updates were fast and furious, and really quite objective. It was mainly comprised of short posts linking to news stories and possibly having a brief description of what the article said. It was pretty neat.

So whilst lying in bed this morning, listening to the TV stammer on about Air Force One (Gotta love the discovery channel) I figured it’d be worth seeing if there were enough bloggers who were avid enough football fans to pull off something like that. So I guess I’m going to start looking for volunteers. It’d be nice to have folks from all of the REAL conferences, but that’s not necessary… and more than one from a conference would be fine.

So… if you’re interested in helping out, or just want me to keep you updated on progress just let me know.

PS: You don’t have to have a website or blog or anything like that to help out. All you need is the ability to write marginally intelligibly (in English) and have an interest in college football.

I too have an interest in college football and offer my help to counteract any pro-Bama slant this might have

Now, now! I won\’t be too pro-bama… after all, if I wanted pro-bama I\’d just read rolltide.com and the tide message boards.

The one I\’d worry about is that Amy chick… I fear we might need some red and green to counteract all that blue.

I can offer information on SEC and CUSA since I follow teams in both conferences pretty religiously (LSU in the SEC and Southern Miss in CUSA) So I could offer some help.

  5. RJ says:

Oh I\’m down wit dat dawg. I got your blue and gold come\’n your way. GO IRISH

  6. Matt Schuh says:

Greetings from the West (actually the Southwest). If unbiased (go Sun Devils) analysis of PAC 10 football is what you\’re looking for, I\’ve got it.

  7. Pete says:

Looks like it\’s going to be a party. Now all we need is an unbiased source from the big ten… hmmm…

  8. Amy says:

I am unbiased about Michigan\’s majestic awesomeness. I promise to give a fully accurate account of how frickin\’ awesome we are at all times. In addition, I will prove how unbiased I am by not refraining from detailed descriptions of how other Big 10 teams suck, and how we are better than them.

    Great! When do we start?

  9. Pete says:

    Great! Thanks Amy!

So umm…. don\’t call us, we\’ll call you, ok?
