The following email was sent to the CKI Business reflector today regarding the public statement that has been mandated by the CKI Board.

Fellow Circle K Members:
In a letter dated February 17 your International Board communicated
that I am to issue a public statement containing:
- intent behind the creation and maintenance of the website at
www.unofficialcki.org;
- Acceptance for my responsibility for the conduct unbecoming of a
Circle K member; and
- Apology for the harm the contents of the Website at
www.unofficialcki.org have caused

If I do not issue such a statement by March 3rd, the board will
continue with it's plan to place me on "Probationary Status" (a
status which, for those of you who are curious, is actually not
located in any governing document). As such, regardless of my actual
feelings on the matter, I will be giving such a statement.

I will give this statement on Saturday, March 1st from the front
porch of my home in Tuscaloosa, Alabama promptly at 6:00am Central
Standard Time. As this is a public statement, All members of the
Kiwanis family and community are welcome to attend.

I hope to see you all here in Tuscaloosa this weekend.

Yours in service,
Pete Holiday

I hope a great many of you will come, as the statement will certainly be something to remember. There’s also a service project at 7:30 to benefit Project ROSE, and you are all wecome to attend that as well.

  1. How in the world are you gonning to get up that early!! I would have at least done 10am and slept in alittle!

  2. I wanna go. Anyone wanna pick me up? I split gas and ummm I can talk for hours.

  3. Absolutely amazing….I gotta hand it to you Pete…you have outdone yourself again. At least your actions follows the policy that was set for you!

  4. hahahahahahahhahahaahahahhaahahha!!! you rock.

  5. I have to say those must be some supersized solid brass ones.

  6. Pete, you have proven to me again why you are the damndest politician I ever met. Simply amazing.

  7. Man, you realize this is Mardi Gras weekend right? I would come but I will be hung over and drunk at 1 am, when I would have to leave to drive up there. Will there be questions allowed after the statement? Like a press conference? Any word on if circlek.org is going to send out some reporters to cover the event? Oh, and Pete, you should know man, only the board and staff can interpret policy, no one else is allowed to, or else, they are declared conduct unbecoming! I can\’t wait to see what staff and board says when, once again, they have been outfoxed at their own game!

  8. I wish I could be there just to see it! You are my idol Pete :)

  9. I would love to get streaming audio of the event…or at least a mp3 or transcript! Damn the International Board! I still think you should have fought this all the way. Give \’em hell!

And Rupert, if you see this…this fiasco has made me lose all respect for you. Once you lose my respect and trust…you\’ve lost it for life. You are now on the same level as Chris Zock to me. And that is the harshest thing I can say about anyone.

  10. Chris Zock? Now THAT\’S low.

Seriously, this needs to be videotaped and released on the net somehow.

We\’ll be laughing all the way from Louisiana (well, we\’ll be asleep, but you know what I mean)

  11. Responses…
Mom: No idea, guess I\’ll have to use that alarm clock!

Matt: Policy? What\’s that? I thought CKI had been declared to be under marshall law given the emergency caused by the evil site!

Joan: Hehe… yah… gonna come watch?

    Eric: *blink* solid brass what?

    Daniel: *bows* Why thank you!

Bobby: The staff and board is out of their league, nevertheless, you can\’t fight city hall.

Sean: I\’m seeing what I can do. I might be able to web-cam it or something. We\’ll see.

    Everyone else: THANKS! :)

  12. Pete, you rock! All I could do was laugh after reading that email. Good luck with the statement tomorrow…I\’d love to be there in person, but being there in spirit will have to work. I\’m behind you and Amy all the way!

I would like to say a few things, one I will not name my name, but as a member of lamisstenn district, I want to apologize for anything that was said that was totally uncalled for coming out of our district,, while I don\’t support this childish behavior, I do think it could have been stated in a way that was done with class. As far as what is coming from IT, while I think that what was done was uncalled for, I do believe that there should have been some guidelines set forth, when the website was started. that way some boundries were stated and known. I do support your ideas Mr. Holiday, and at the same time agree with your conclusions of what has transpired. I only wish that this can be truly worked out in a way that satifies all parties.
