The University of Alabama Circle K club held it’s annual [Luminaries] project yesterday, we placed over 2,000 luminaries on the quad and raised a decent bit of money for Bryce-Partlow. It was a tremendous success, the chair of the project did a wonderful job, and the quad looked better this year than any other year that I’ve seen. While photographs hardly do any justice to the ambiance of walking around a candle-lit quad with the chimes playing christmas music, I took some anyway. In fact, I took quite a few. Here are some of the more stunning. Comments welcome in the comments box. ( 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 )
My favorites are 4, 6 and 7.
In other news, I’ve got one of my three finals out of the way, and it went as well as it could. The Japanese final was a tough one, but not as tough as I thought it’d be. I was in a situation where I really couldn’t help or hurt my grade much with the final, so I didn’t’ worry much about it. I’m not going to have an A, but since this class doesn’t really mean much of anything in terms of my degree, my primary focus was on what I could learn, not what kind of grade I could manage… and I think I’ve learned a lot. The next two finals (both on Wednesday) are not so irrelevant, however. I need to get good grades in both of them. I think I will. I guess we’ll see. I’ve been sparse lately and will continue to be so at least until wednesday. Maybe longer. Depends on when my brain decides to start working again — it usually goes on strike after finals.
