The other day in Japanese the professor was talking about sending New Year’s cards. He said that pretty much everyone sends them to pretty much everyone they know. This conversation ensued:

Professor: If you don’t get many New Year’s cards then you’re not very popular.
Student: Does the suicide rate go up around New Years?
Professor: Yes! Maybe if you get no cards then society doesn’t need you.

For the humor-oblivious, this was a joke.

There are only 13 more shopping days until one of my favorite Holidays.

Apparently the folks at Miami University of Ohio have a tough time taking a defeat. This article discusses a coach that was charged with battery after pushing down a Marshall fan after the game this week.

Attention all men! Tess is running a little survey, and your participation is humbly requested. Fill out her survey here.

Manny alerted me to the fact that there’s another dumbass suing someone because he did something stupid. This is the reason that the damn liberals should not be protecting us from ourselves. This kid does NOT need to be reproducing.

  1. Reader\’s Digest quote: \”The American people are very generous, they will forgive any fault with the possible exception of stupidity.\” Although I consider Johnny Knoxville to be one of my heroes, (anyone that can survive half of what he does and still laugh about it is pretty impressive in my book) poo-diving and bull castrating just aren\’t my cup of tea. And, if you can\’t keep your kids from running amuck you shouldn\’t have applied for the job of parent.

  2. That\’s about true, too. I basically agree with you. The thing about Johnny Knoxville is that he KNOWS the stuff that he\’s doing is dumb, and takes steps to ensure that he doesn\’t injure himeslf (too badly) or die. I really do wish that kid had sterilized himself.
