Random Jabber

Yesterday I had the immense “pleasure” of watching what was, quite possibly, the worst football game I’ve ever seen. ‘Bama’s big rival Auburn came to town looking to stay alive in the hunt for a shot at Georgia in the SEC Title Game (Alabama had, of course, already clinched the west, but we can’t go to the title game because the NCAA hates us). There was no question that Alabama had the better football team. Better coaches. More imposing fans. But none of that seemed to matter… Auburn won 17-7. The officiating wasn’t really all that bad, there will always be missed calls. The problem, you see, is that Alabama played absolutely horribly. It was ugly. That said, however, I only have a few things to add: I’d much rather lose like this, at the hands of our own players who didn’t play a good game, then get the game stolen from us by the officials (like when Georgia came to town). Second, I’d rather lose in Crimson and White than win in Orange and Blue. Roll Tide.

In Pete-centric news, I finished a huge tests on Thursday and Friday, and I have two more this week before I head home for Thanksgiving on Wednesday. Speaking of Wednesday… have you done your shopping for everyone’s favorite holiday? If you need shopping advice, feel free to go ThinkGeek or Amazon.

I was checking out CNN.com today, and found a number of articles worth checking out. That number was two. First off, there’s an article about a group of whiners at Harvard Law who don’t like to hear things that they don’t agree with and so they’ve started an initiative to do away with “offensive speech” in the classroom — whatever that means. The second one is slightly comical. Apparently a SCIENTIST was working on a report and had his laptop sitting on his lap. This man left his laptop on his lap long enough to burn his penis. Those things get hot, folks.
