I didn’t get a whole lot accomplished today. SURPRISE. Heh… well, I started playing around with PHP Gallery a nifty little photo gallery script. It’s really nice, and hopefully once I get the hang of it I’ll be able to keep my photos there.
I began the arduous task of ripping my entire CD collection to OggVorbis. I managed to get the first four Collective Soul CDs (Hints, Allegations, and things left Unsaid; Collective Soul, Disciplined Breakdown; and Dosage) along some Dave Matthews Band Stuff: Live at Luther College, and Before these Crowded Streets.
Ok… so why Ogg and not MP3? Quite simple, really. OGG is supported by virtually every player/burner/etc… that has come out, and it’s free. MP3, contrary to popular belief, is NOT free. The patent owners charge all sorts of royalties to encode MP3 or decode MP3 with hardware (portable MP3 players, for example).
