Don’t mistake the title of this entry… this mess is far from over, but it is the beginning of the end, I think. If you’re lost and clueless, my favorite superhero Batgrl has compiled the most complete reference on the situation.

I’ve been proud of myself… I’ve done MUCH more reading than writing, but I do have a bit to say. I’ll keep it brief, and trust me… I’m not trying to stir stuff up.

His Loopiness has made some mistakes. Some bad ones. For the most part, he’s apologized for them. For some, this was enough; for some it wasn’t. I don’t have any sort of relationship with Hoopty, except that I read his blog and I think he wanders by here on occasion. Suffice it to say, though, that his method of interacting with others leaves something to be desired.

I think, though, that some of the bridges that he’s burned are not mendable, or not to be mended. For the most part, I think his apology was the right thing to do, and was very big of him. I do think that the apology to Lee was sorely lacking, and most pathetic.

Wishful thinking that it may be, I hope we’ve ALL learned a valuable lesson from this whole thing. As usual, however, [?YMMV].

…we now return you to your regularly scheduled blogging…

Update:
Hoopty has done a fine job of restating his apology. It seems to be enough for the primary victims, and it seems quite sincere. It was a very, very frank apology and it took an incredible strength to do, no doubt. Nice job, Hoopty.

Ok… can we get back to the good-natured name-calling and fun-making now?

Amen… and not half as rough for me as some. It\’s a blog new world, isn\’t it kd?

  3. Ah…. I think you put it best in your comments on Kare\’s site.

What comes to mind when I read it, is the alcoholic/abusive, and/or cheating boyfriend that gets busted and gets on his knees crying, begging for forgiveness, and swears he\’ll never hit/cheat on her again…

Just my 2cents, redeemable at any convenience store. A lot of people had something bottled up, they had to get it off their chest, and now they\’re ready to move on (hopefully, a little wiser.). wonder if *anybody\’s* going to BlogCon at this point.
