Everything is, strangely, going according to plan. The site migration happened yesterday… PHP/MySQL is sooo much faster than ASP/Access. Today I begin the drive home. I have no aversion to hopping in the car and driving for 10 hours, the only problem is that it requires me to wake up much earlier than I normally do. So I decided to split up the drive and stop a little over half-way, only to get up tomorrow and drive the rest of the way. Sounds like fun, huh? Yeah… I thought so too.
I should be on the road by 2:00pm central time, so if you’re bored and want to keep me company on the trip, feel free to call my cell phone. (205) 301-4912. I know, I’m just asking for strange phone calls, but that’s ok… no, really, I mean it… call. There’s only so much car-singing that the other drivers on the highway can take.
So, last night, while I was laying in bed trying to fall asleep, my brain concocted a fun little game that would be fun to play. As a child (hell, or an adult for that matter) have you ever taken a sheet of paper, written something on it, then folded it so that only the last thing to be written was able to be seen, then handed it to someone else to do the same? You did? Well, I didn’t… but I think it would be kinda fun to do electronically. I’m not sure on all of the details yet but the more I thought about it, the more I realized: damn… there are some FUNNY people out there, if I could get them to come play this little game with me, it’d be hilarious. So I’m looking for suggestions as to how to make the game more interesting. Currently I’m thinking the following: Everyone is able to see a starter paragraph (doesn’t have to be part of the story, just something to give the tale a bit of direction) and then, if it’s their turn, they get to read the paragraph/sentence/whatever from the person before them. They submit their sentence, and an email gets sent to the next player, asking him/her to come play.

don\’t know about the game thingy, i\’m never good at that sort of thing, but you know it\’s damn dangerous to give out your cell number to weirdos like me that have free long distance and too many minutes, and stay up late.
i almost called you, and it\’s after midnight where you are.

I have more cell phone minutes than I can shake three sticks and lamb\’s tail at. I HOPE people randomly call me. Heh… I turn my cell off at night so it doesn\’t wake me. People can call all they want… the crazier the person, the better.

That doesn\’t sound too unlike the \”get a group of mystery writers together and each write a chapter\” biz that was going on a while back (and maybe still is, who knows…I\’m not on their list).
